Kewanee Boilers Are Heavy Duty Efficient WorkersKewanee boilers were manufactured by The Kewanee Boiler Corporation which had a wide network through out the United States, Canada, Mexico and other countries. Although the Kewanee boilers are no more produced by this company, yet these boilers are extremely popular in the industry. Kewanee boilers come in gas, oil or in a combination of gas and oil boilers. These are a high efficiency and low maintenance boilers. The base of the boiler made from heavy steel enables one to handle the boilers easily and provides a balanced weight distribution. The draft burner is mounted on the skid base of the boiler. The cover of the boiler is a dust tight cabinet which encloses the control panel where programming is done. The front doors of the cabinet are insulated and hinged which serves the purpose of inspection and maintenance from time to time. The Kewanee boilers protect one against dry fire as it has a combination water column, pump control etc. Fuel efficiency is achieved in these boilers by their firing controls. A special 22- gauge steel jacket insulated with thick mineral fiber is instrumental in achieving the desired fuel efficiency. Installation ease is achieved by the heavy steel lifting lugs which are provided with the boiler. It has a one piece tubing sheet which sometimes gets bend and twisted which results in the failure of the boiler. The main reason behind the tubes getting damaged is excessive heat stress. To overcome these Kewanee boilers in later models made an amendment in its designing and started using separate tube sheets to minimize maintenance losses. The crown sheet arching upwards in the firebox helps in providing more of primary heating surface. The dual fluebox in the front and the rear makes provides an excellent insulation for Kewanee boilers. Double boilers from Kewanee maintain to be the highest grade of boilers available in the market. There are a large number of boiler companies based in Ohio, which sells Kewanee boilers. As these boilers are no more produced now, there is still a good demand for their used and refurbished boilers. The chief boilers available under the Kewanee brand name are Type 'M' packaged firebox boiler which comes in fifteen different sizes and has an efficiency of 50-75 in converting fuel to steam or water and it also guarantees 100% firing rates. The Classic III Packaged Scotch Design Fire tube Boiler is available in 18 sizes and is powered in a varied range from 20 hp to 1200 hp. These boilers also guarantee a fuel to steam efficiency ranging from 25% to 100%. Apart from the excellent design, fuel and work efficiency the Kewanee door refractory are guaranteed against repair or replacement for 10 years. This gives an added advantage to already preferred line of boilers. |
